Welcome to CVUSD Preschool Early Childhood Program
CVUSD Preschool provides intentional, hands-on child focused experiences. We create the foundation for a life-long love of learning and continued success!
Our Philosophy
The staff and administration at CVUSD Preschool know that young children thrive in safe, friendly and respectful environments. These elements are foundational and at the core of our program’s philosophy; a philosophy that fosters a child-centered curriculum and is based on the guiding principles of the California Preschool Curriculum Framework.
The multi-age opportunity, along with parent participation, promotes empathy, self-regulation and leadership development. We offer care and curriculum that is age appropriate for children’s developmental needs in a rich setting allowing for exploration, creativity, problem-solving, science, math, and language acquisition through play, group activities and individual choice.

Our Mission
CVUSD Preschool, operating within the Conejo Valley Unified School District, is committed to building a strong foundation for families with children ages eighteen months to five years by promoting school readiness. This enhances the potential for young children to engage in lifelong learning, and helps families make connections to wellness services.
Our Goals
Our goal is to provide a well-rounded and enriching experience for young learners using intentional teaching, individualized attention, hands-on activities, developmentally appropriate practices, play-based learning and a stimulating blend of outdoor and indoor environments. We partner with families to provide a safe and loving quality educational environment for their children. This includes a variety of experiences that will allow each child to build strong relationship skills, develop and practice problem solving and conflict resolution, develop an interest and joy in learning, and more!
Our Partners
Funded by the California Department of Education/Child Development Division, CVUSD Preschool is a joint project of the Conejo Valley Unified School District and the City of Thousand Oaks.
